A painting by Brad Betts value $1800 from Downeast Gallery

Brad Betts has been an artist for over 25 years and is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA). His paintings have appeared in solo and group shows throughout New England, including the Mystic Seaport Gallery’s acclaimed “International Marine Art Exhibition” for the past 14 years. In 2006, Brad received the “Maritime Gallery Yachting Award” and in 2017 the “Award of Excellence” at this annual juried exhibition. In 2008, he was recognized as one of “Four Distinguished Artists” at the Mystic Seaport Gallery.

John Seitzer, co-owner of Joy to the Wind Gallery in Boothbay Harbor, with his wife Lynne.  His work has received local, state and regional awards and has recently been exhibited in the Art in The Embassies of Georgetown, Guyana and Bamako, Mali.  Seitzer has shown in galleries across the United States, and is included in many corporate and private collections around the world. Together with his wife Lynne, also an artist, they paint and teach at home in Boothbay Harbor.

Join forager Rachel Alexandrou on September 23rd at Veggies to Table for an educational walk and learn how to safely identify and cook with wild edible plants. The walk will last 2 hours and will end with a tasting of what you have gathered.  Rachel has a degree in Environmental Horticulture and is certified in community herbalism.  Bring a notebook because you will want to take notes so that you can continue to practice gathering the delicious bounty from our area.
