February 17th: Growing Our Gardens, Growing Ourselves

featuring Petra Page-Mann of Fruition Seeds

6:00 - 7:30PM ON ZOOM

Petra Page-Mann is the vibrant personality behind Fruition’s popular Instagram page and website. Fruition grows organic produce and flowers and sells seeds specifically adapted for the Northeastern gardener. Petra teaches classes and webinars on all there is to know about gardening and farming in an unpredictable climate, and joyfully shares her abundant knowledge on her website.

Petra’s presentation, “Growing Our Gardens, Growing Ourselves,” will ask us to reflect not merely on the HOW of gardening but on the WHY— a topic that is near-and-dear to Veggies to Table. A garden can be so much more than just a means to put food on the table; it can be filled with intention, purpose, and meaning. Inspired by the writing of Robin Wall Kimmerer (Braiding Sweetgrass), this talk is sure to captivate and inspire.

For our February meal theme, “Winter Comfort Food”, reflect on ideas of comfort, home, and winter nourishment. What meal do you crave in the deep of winter to warm your body and soul?

Prizes will be awarded for the most use of local food in the meal, creative recipe choice and photo submissions, best use of theme, as well as a random drawing of all ticket holders.

The prizes for this event are: a $50 Reny’s gift card, a Fruition Seeds Garden Planning Calendar, a Veggies to Table Maine-made market apron, an Oxbow Beer tote, and a copy of Fruition Seeds Guide to Seed Starting With Ease.
