DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Veggies to Table is looking for a full-time or part-time development manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with nonprofits and in development roles. Additionally this person needs to have the capacity for and excitement about working in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. No two days look quite the same, and this role requires the ability to multitask, pivot, and prioritize as needed. We greet each day’s challenges and successes with humor and flexibility, and work to create a supportive environment for all team members. This is a hybrid position, with a flexible combination of remote work and time spent at our Newcastle location.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Veggies to Table Executive Director and Development Team the Development Manager will work on a variety of tasks which may include but not be limited to:
Donor Relations:
Developing, managing, communicating with, thanking, and tracking existing donors and bringing in new donors
Helping implement monthly donor strategy
Assisting in corporate sponsor outreach to new and existing sponsors
Events & Fundraising:
Helping with a Veggies to Table Auction
Helping with all in person fundraising events and house parties
Helping to create and implement our end of year and spring appeals
Attending community events and representing Veggies to Table
Helping implement our 3rd annual Paris Sweepstakes
Helping develop, plan, and implement pop-ups and workshops
Writing grants in collaboration with ED and development team
Admin, in conjunction with Operations Manager:
Help creating and maintenance of spreadsheets as needed in conjunction with team
Help develop and maintain organizational systems
Helping maintain and improve our donor management database and communication practices in collaboration with team
Helping with communication systems to expand our reach through our newsletter, social media channels, events, and press.
Other duties as assigned which may include but are not limited to development of our education program.
Desired experience:
At least three years of nonprofit work with at least one of those years in a development role (ideally more).
Experience, joy, and comfort working directly with high net donors
Experience obtaining new donors and the retention of existing donors
Experience writing grants
Experience planning or assisting with fundraising events
Passion for the mission of Veggies to Table and serving our community in need
Familiarity with donor databases (Bloomerang)
Someone who finds joy in setting fundraising (and other) goals and achieving (and surpassing) them
Qualifications:
Openness to work in a role where day-to-day tasks might vary.
A team player and builder
Comfort working in both group/team settings and independently
Ability to be at the farm in Newcastle weekly and more during busy times.
Ability to use and learn new technology for remote/hybrid teams (Google Drive, Whatsapp, Basecamp, etc.)
Someone who is self motivated, highly organized, curious and has and a passion for creating and building community
Superior communication and writing skills
Social media marketing experience is a plus (and/or willingness to learn)
Knowledge of organic veggie and flower gardening/farming is a plus

Salary:
Full-time: $52,000 per year
Part-time (3 days/week): $31,000 per year
